| Years 1927 and 1928 were desperate years for our Lodge. The great depression had impoverished our country and interest in Freemasonry in this district was at a low ebb. Only the devoted efforts of a few dedicated Brethren kept our Lodge alive. It is a sad sign of the times that both Grand Lodge and Provincial Grand Lodge, in trying to ensure the survival of Lodge Murdostoun Castle, agreed to meetings being held whenever sufficient interested Brethren could be gathered together. Holding only one single meeting in a whole year tells a sad story. | ||
